This engine is not only faster than the powertrain found in most similar SUVs, but it’s also more efficient with an average fuel economy rating of fewer than 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres. 

That said, the new Kona is also available with a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 175 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. There isn’t a more powerful engine in the Kona’s segment. Despite its power, the engine still averages just under 8.5 litres per 100 kilometres. 

The new Kona has 544 litres of total cargo space behind the rear seats, which makes it a versatile option for buyers in need of space. It starts at just $21,249 and comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as heated seats. It’s a tremendous value in a segment that often comes up short on delivering the features that buyers want.
